The purpose of this individualized graduation plan is to assist you set goals based

on your academic interest and experiential learning objectives. The plan is designed to help you focus on the connection between coursework and your overall educational and career goals.

  1. First-year:
  1.  
    1. Must take Health and Wellness (T1HW), First Year Liberal Arts Colloquium (T1Q), Writing (T1A), and Mathematics (T1M) Liberal Arts Core Curriculum requirements within the first 30 credits.

NOTE: If you are placed in Elementary Algebra (MAT 098 or MAT 098W), you must complete this course within the first 24 credits attempted.  If you do not meet this requirement, you will not be allowed to attend any Connecticut State University institution until Elementary Algebra is completed. These credits can not be used toward the 120 graduation requirement.

  1.  
    1. Foreign Language Requirement:  If you did not complete two years of the same language in high school, you must take two semesters of the same language in college.  (ECSU International Program students are exempt.)

 

  1. Sophomore:

With a GPA of 2.7 or higher, begin planning to participate in Cooperative Education Program, Internships and/or Study Abroad Program. To enroll in the National Student Exchange Program, a minimum GPA of 2.5 is needed.

  1. Junior:

a.   Schedule Cooperative Education Program, Internships, Study Abroad or National Student Exchange

b.   Writing Portfolio requirement must be completed.

This can be fulfilled by submitting four of your best “graded” papers to the English Department.  Some majors (i.e. ENG, HIS and BIO) have designated a course which will also fulfill this requirement.  Students who transferred in 75 or more credits are waived from this requirement.

 

  1. Senior:
    1. Schedule Cooperative Education Program, Internships, Study Abroad or National Student Exchange

    1. Writing Intensive course(s) in your major must be completed.

 

 

Upper-level Course Requirement: In order to graduate, you must have a total of 120 credits.  Sixty (60) credits 

     must be above the 200 level. Out of these 60 credits 30 credits must be at the 300 or 400 level.
